Useful for bird owners

As a bird lover and a bird mommy, It is so important to have a good avian medicine book. Birds are so delicate and hide their illness well by nature, so all bird owner should learn about them more so than any other types of pet owners.
Though it is a book intended for Vet Student, very easy to read and full of usuful information.

Great small book

I got this book because I couldn't afford the 2-volume Harrison and Lightfoot "Clinical Avian Medicine." This seems to have great overviews of avian medicine topics, and has a lot of photos. I would recommend this to any vet wanting to dabble in avian medicine... if you are planning on having a larger portion of your patients be birds, you might want to splurge on the 2-volume Harrison and Lightfoot set.

A BRAVE, HONEST EXPLANATION!!

I thought that the hard work and thought given to this "expose" made it an honest interpretation of the present crisis in the Catholic Church. One certainly knows how this nun feels about it, and that is very refreshing. It is also a "good read".

SISTER 'RIGHT ON' -- keep writing; keep talking

Karol Jackowski has been an ordained nun since 1964. The topic is pedophilia in the Priesthood, ONE book written by ONE nun. This is why I picked up the book, but I kept on reading because its REFRESHING & MODERN.

If you think you're not part of the problem read on:

A company found out several Employees represented the company, went out and had sex with children/minors on company grounds and off-site. Do you think the company would a: WAIT FOR PUBLIC OUTRAGE TO REACH DEAFENING PROPORTIONS b: STAY SILENT EVEN THOUGH THE PARENTS ALONG WITH THE CHILDREN ARE FILING PUBLIC CLAIMS c: DEFEND THE EMPLOYEES WITH A COMPANY ATTORNEY AT NO CHARGE TO THE EMPLOYEES BY CLOSING THEIR DAYCARE/YOUTH PROGRAMS d: TAKE THE CASE TO THE NEXT STOCK-HOLDERS MEETING e: NONE OF THE ABOVE.

All may be plausible, but any business executive would know "e" is the best choice because the company is at risk through no fault of their own. It would contend these employees acted on their own behalf, put their own needs above the welfare of the company and did something that was not company approved nor part of the company's policy to conduct business. It was a personal matter. A personal matter that is morally wrong and a crime. So the action would have to be swift and immediate to limit company damage and to avoid liability. Every single one would be handed over on a silver platter to the proper authorities: arrested, charged and a trial date set.

To have these Employees represented by a company attorney would be INSANITY, to close facilities that benefit the community for the sake of these few individuals that acted on their own behalf would be FATAL for the business. To do both would ensure public BACKLASH and would leave the company with an image that its UNFIT to conduct business in a responsible tone. This would leave the company open for a takeover, to be boycotted (possible bankruptcy/foreclosure) to overhaul from the top down to the bottom to insure it doesn't happen again.

Now go back, plug in 'Church' and their course of actions. It doesn't add up. Why would they put the entire Church not only in such a light, but in such liability? Any other religion could pick up the fallout (and many have) and anyone can see what they are doing does not further their teachings or the teachings of God, what is moral or what is just in God-fearing Christians. So...the only conclusion we can reach is either they are unfit for the teachings of Theology (their 'business') or they must be overhauled from top to bottom. The Church is not going to dissolve though it may wither away if it continues on its course and there are not religious 'take-overs'. The Church appearance of INSANITY is a reflection of society's INSANITY in truth about incest, rape and pedophilia.

Still it takes great courage to navigate through adulthood after being sexually abused and have enough strength & self-esteem to stand up in public and tell the world 'this is what he/she did to me and I want him/her held accountable for their actions' in front of your family, peers, community for all to see. Some have waited 10, 20 even 30 years to bring these pedophiles to justice. Those convicted are not Priests, but pedophiles...serial pedophiles. I believe many of us are just opening our eyes, cleaning out our ears and speaking out for the first time. The time has come for ALL WOMEN to take their rightful places in all faucets of life right next to the men who deserve to be in those places. NOT next to the men who think they are above the Law, God and the universe.

Thank you Ms. Karol Jackowski, Mr. John O'Donohue (claims the Church wouldn't last 3 months if the women walked out)and so many OTHERS who believe to SPEAK OUT AND BREAK THE SILENCE is the most RADICAL we can get in order to stop incest, rape & pedophilia. We are against injustice. We stand for the victims not the perpetrators who commit incest, rape and pedophilia.

No, this book isn't what I thought it would be. That is a good thing. If I read anymore stories of what priests did to kids....Anyway, this is an enlightening book about the sexual abuses from a nun's point of view. She clearly explains the atmosphere within the catholic church that allowed these atrocities to go on for so long. Everyone who calls him or herself a Catholic is to blame, in one way or another. That church has been corrupt since its very beginnings. It did NOT create Christianity, it stole it.

S�o elas: BIOLOGY, THERAPY, IMITATE, PREDATOR, EXTEMPORANEITY, KARATE, IDENTIFY, SOBRIETY, ALCOHOL, CONTINUITY, DECAHEDRAL, GARAGE, CACH�, ATHEISM e MYOPIA. Imagine-se recorrendo ao dicion�rio de ingl�s 600 mil vezes para, em v�o, tentar memorizar, os sons de 600 mil palavras j� sabendo que n�o conseguir� se lembrar das pron�ncias delas no futuro assim como n�o conseguir� se lembrar de 600.000 n�meros de telefones nunca. 1 a 0 para as REGRAS.

2) A leitura de um texto em ingl�s requer muita habilidade da fala e muito conhecimento da fonologia inglesa. 3) Vis�o ampla do idioma ingl�s a partir de um moderno dicion�rio de fonologia, que traz em ordem alfab�tica os sons das LETRAS EM DESTAQUE, EM GRUPOS E EM AMBIENTES ORTOGR�FICO-FON�MICOS, os chamados SISTEMAS FONEM�TICOS. Logicamente, aquele que dominar todos os sons ingleses atrav�s das regras de fonologia vai levar muito mais vantagem nos estudos, se for aluno, e se for professor de ingl�s, o aproveitamento das aulas bem como o custo-benef�cio ser� ainda maior. Al�m disso a comunica��o pela voz ser� muito mais frequente pela internet do que atrav�s do teclado. Qual computador ir� obedecer o comando de voz, em ingl�s, se a pron�ncia de determinada palavra estiver errada? 3 a 0 para as REGRAS.

Fazendo uma associa��o, abra o arquivo do Rio de Janeiro, consta no conjunto RJ ( Olimp�adas, Maracan�, Flamengo, Copacabana, Samba, Rocinha.... ) Assim s�o os conjuntos das Regras. E como a gente v� as regras de instante em instante nos textos em ingl�s n�o d� jamais para esquecer que na pasta da letra A cont�m os seguintes dados: No alfabeto soa ei,como em VITAMIN A, no prefixo ingl�s soa a de coisa, como em ABOUT, AROUND, AWAY, APIECE. Abrindo o arquivo de X vou me lembrar de seu som no alfabeto que � �ks de anexo, como em X-RAY. No come�o soa z de zebra, como em XANADU, XEROX, XENOPHOBIA. E da segunda letra em diante na palavra X soa ks de fixo, como em MEXICAN, BOX, EXERCISE. Nunca esqueceremos de que no sistema AEIOU + CONS 1 + E/I + VOG a vogal I soa i de mil, como em VIDEO, LINEAR, TRADITION, MATHEMATICIAN. O arquivo de WA diz que esse Grupo soa u�, como em SWAMP, WAS, WATER e SWAT. Em 2 anos se � poss�vel chegar perto dos sons de 1 milh�o de palavras em ingl�s, incluindo afixos, como j� foi comprovado nas 2 mil horas/aula no curso de extens�o e especializa��o em pron�ncia do ingl�s ministrado pelo linguista e Prof. F�bio Alencar de Recife desde 2008. 4 a 0 para as regras

About the Author

Mendel Kleiner is Professor Emeritus at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, and head of the Chalmers Room Acoustics Group. Before his retirement, Dr. Kleiner taught room acoustics, audio, electroacoustics, and ultrasonics in the Chalmers Master Program on Sound and Vibration in the Division of Applied Acoustics. After retiring, he continues his research in acoustics, as well as teaching and consulting. He has authored or coauthored more than 55 publications and 110 papers, including two books. He has presented many keynote lectures, led courses at international conferences on acoustics and noise control, and organized an international conference on acoustics. His main research areas include electroacoustics and audio, computer simulation of room acoustics, electroacoustic room acoustics enhancement, room acoustics of auditoria and small rooms, sound and vibration measurement technology, product sound quality, psychoacoustics, and musical acoustics. He is a fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, serves on the Audio Engineering Society’s Standards Committee on Acoustics, and was chair of its Technical Committee on Acoustics and Sound Reinforcement for 20 years.

Before I read this I was not aware of the extreme measures that some of them take to systematically harass, threaten, stalk, and promote violence against specific outspoken women and their families. This is an important book on a very timely issue and one that has widespread repercussions for our society. Its staggering to think about the degree to which gendertrolling suppresses women's voices, denies us of their talent and insight, and poisons online communities.
